Band name. Cover art. Logo. These are the gateways to annihilation. They are the first impression. Having said that, my dog pees deadlier lettering, flag burning just ain't what it used to be, and Urine of Canine would actually be a better name than this embarrassing play on words. This is gonna be short and sour.
Deadicated is a horribly named death-thrash outfit from Denmark. These six songs bring to mind the cave-manhandling and blunt force of Kreator circa Pleasure To Kill, but not in the way that it's "hip" to be these days. It's not grisly throwback speed metal, and their singer is more Barney Greenway than Mille Petrozza. Cultureviolence is an attempt to update that not-so-fresh feeling, but it fails due to a lack of imagination and chops. Not completely, entirely lacking. Everything just treads middle ground. The songwriting, the production, the musicianship.....right there in the middle. However, the song titles come from somewhere below the midriff ("Romantic Violent Rape", "Radiophobia", "Cultureviolence"), from around the groin area, or perhaps one-hundred-and-eighty degrees to the right or left of that depending on how you're standing. All in all, what pushes through your speakers is not quite the fecal matter that would rub off onto your clothes should you try to put this actual, physical package in your pocket. Granted, this is a demo, but c'mon, just how much dust do they want this to collect (call me "wifey", this was released in February, it is now September, case closed). Musically, Deadicated do possess a cheap gift for transitioning from thrashing to mid-pacing before either becomes tedious. That'll be a selling point if they manage to stick around long enough to put the other work in. I command them to do away with the five cent guitar tone and flatulent bass next time around. I generally enjoy bands from Denmark, and I would like to someday add them to my list, because I'm a nice guy.
Really no need to go into specifics here since there is nothing here specifically interesting.
