Anytime it takes you longer to sound out the names of the songs then to actually get through listening to them you know you've entered the ADHD stricken realm of grindcore. Bodies Lay Broken is a band that doesn't try to reinvent anything here, they just play what they love, and that's straight-up brutally sick grind. They employ fast short songs, often introduced with samples, insane song titles, and a sick multi-vokill attack. Here's an example of some of the track names I had to try and comprehend: Iatraliptic Gaster Myxorrhea Humectant, Foramen Into Petechial Granulomatous Heapatopathy, and Bapalsick Kinentumaceaton Frenculacing Inhemnanceous Tortua. Not that the song names are that important though since the music often hits into a lackluster monotony throughout the entire experience of one and a half minute songs. This isn't to say that the album was a complete waste of my time. It was a semi-interesting listen. In between three chord progressions and odd samples I found some music that was worth my time. The vokill attack had to be the highlight of the album to me. There's something about the sinister rasp combined with the gurgling growls that just makes the experience of listening to Eximinious Execration of Exiguous Exequies worth going through a couple times.
If you love straight-up grindcore I have not a doubt in my mind you will eat this up. For the rest of you metalheads out there, if you can get past lack-luster, flat sounding production, you may find something worth looking into, but the overall effect of this album wears thin rather quick as there isn't much too it.
