Waco Jesus is a band that I would have much rather been introduced to live. Instead I happened to be wandering through my local metal record shop when one of the employees asked me if I would like to check out some "poop-eriffic good metal." Not even knowing how to respond to a question like that I just stood there as he slid Waco Jesus' debut album, Destroying Commercial Scum, in front of me. I picked up the album looked at the cover and decided I had already seen enough considering if was covered with people shitting all over the place including into one another's mouths. If nothing else though, the name Waco Jesus has stuck with me ever since then and here I sit now listening to their sophomore effort, Filth, and actually bobbing my head a bit while listening also.
One thing is for sure about Waco Jesus, this group is one bunch of sick fucks. With song titles like "Blast You in the Face with My Semen, Blast You in the Face with My Fist" and "Punch You in the Cunt", there is not a doubt in my mind that this is true. Whether you want to listen to a bunch of sick fucks though is another thing; luckily Waco Jesus dishes out some pretty impressive death/grind for your buck. Combining heavy as hell grooves with fast blasting metal and a guttural vokill attack, Waco Jesus will beat you and leave you for dead. The album offers up enough difference to keep your interest and is worth checking into. Sure they're not the most technical band out there, but the filth that they bring to the fetish-porn covered table is something that I'm sure I'll groove to for a while. If you dig bands along the lines of Anal Blast, you should enjoy Filth.
