17 Wounds Of Exit

Remember that Phobia album, Grind Your Fucking Head In? Yeah, me neither. But Poland’s Exit Wounds have definitely taken that title to heart, as this ten-minute burst of energy does just that.

17 Wounds of Exit is a tasty little platter of bleeding grindcore, with just the right touch of brutal death fatness added for extra flavor. Slathered with a thick layer of ultra-spastic, eyeball-stretching screams, they provide exactly the type of manic wrecking that you’d expect from scanning the cover, the tracklisting, and the running time. Exit Wounds don’t provide very many surprises, save for the jarring revelation that they kick some serious, serious ass. Aside from(maybe) two breakdowns and a Walter Sobchak sample, these guys keep the throttle down the whole time. Their ugly, detuned churn is speedy and satisfying throughout, and, as a groovy bonus, they vomit out a Regurgitate cover to conclude the madness.

And, uh…yeah. That’s about it. If you’re in the mood for a quick burst of saw-toothed, homicidal grind that’ll satiate your primal urges, this is your weapon. A band to keep an eye or two on, and one of the best grind-finds since Mumakil. Well worth your ten minutes.
