The giant centipede feels an intense motivation for flesh. His hunger drives him to an area of high traffic--an underground tunnel just below the surface of what is normally his lair... a hollowed out rotten log covered with various fungi. He'd felt the vibrations and body heat of a passing small mammal before. However, a belly full of beetles kept him planted firmly and supplied zero motivation whatsoever. The multi-legged monster hangs his upper half into the burrow while anchoring his rear in the log. Hours pass and his heat sensors become active due to an approaching mole. The mole has no clue of the pede's presence and forges ahead, only to run head on into a web of sharp, gripping digits. He attempts to back up but it is futile; the pede has him and will not release, unless his own life is at stake. Quickly, black fangs blue-balled with venom penetrate the mole's tender flesh. Existence terminates. The pede proceeds hastily to consume his capture. Body completely in the burrow, he will need sufficient space for his expanding girth from the imminent feast that lay ahead. His oral tools begin to pick, tear, and sort the pieces. Garbage like hair and dirt get discarded to the side, while everything else enters an assembly line of skeletal legs, ripping teeth, and swift digestive disintigration. The legs move like side by side sewing machines. They hand acceptable material into a vortex of grinding molars, moving in half circular patterns and pulsing inwards. The former flesh is systematically ground into a pulp and prompted through a tract that will turn it into protein rich fuel to feed the ever-lengthening arthropod....

Suhrim return from a very long vacation with an interesting offering of Belgian death metal with hints of old school grindcore, thrash, & a modernization of sound with the utilization of supreme production values and beefy B-tuned 7-string guitars. Brutish in sound and delivery, the group delivers track after track of downtuned chunky hooks. This will become clear after the bombardment of "The Prophecy", with its stop and start power chord blast belches and frightening death tremolo picking. I like the addition of the updated sampling of modern films before and after the tracks, whether they are from the horror or unimportant genres. "Vomiting Blood" has an intro from Silent Hill, with the sounding sirens of horror. Tasteful and modern for a breed of metal dying for fresh air! Not too concerned about melody, Suhrim rely on the formula for the bottom-end riff, sometimes carrying it over into thrash territory. Complementary solos make their appearances, & the overall sound is of the more basic variety as opposed to uber-technicality. A taste of "Vengeance Shall be Mine" is a first rate marquee for this album, as it upholds Suhrim's prime directives: Chunkery, Riffery, & Headbangery. The material is a consistent delivery of skill & separation arriving in a bulky carriage.

This group easily accomplishes its goals with "Happy Hour", and I have easily accomplished repeated air guitar and automated headbangery every time shortly following insertion of the disc of death data. I believe I'd be stating a fact when I say that there is not a weak track on this collection of 15 hate hymns. I would suggest this album as a soundtrack to watching members of the animal kingdom killing and consuming each other, or simply for efficiently annoying your surrounding community as a whole. The possibilities are endless because it's a fun & groovy listen. Dance club owners take note: The amount of phat beatz and killer rhymes here will have Hollister clad college kids paying extra to get a spot on your dance floor!
