Tyrannic Ethical Reconstruction
Sin Life Death
So here we have a three-song demo from Italy’s Tyrannic Ethical Reconstruction – a brutal death metal band currently unsigned. $in Life Death is a tad outdated because they now have Promo 2007 available, but this short burst shows some definite promise, even if the originality could use some work.
“The Holy Sin,” “Freedom to Decide,” and “Metastatis” share many of the same qualities. The songs often transition between a mid and fast pace, guttural growls occupy the foreground while Kekal-like BM vocals occupy the background, and grooves and leads are strewn about like beer cans at a frat party. Interestingly enough, Scythe also vocalizes for Hour of Penance, and speaking of labels, I could see TER fitting in at Xtreem Music, Goregiastic, Brutal Bands, Rotten to the Core, Dan’s Crypt, and any number of others that cater to brutal death audiences from time to time, if not more.
$in Life Death is, however, a fairly standard take that doesn’t necessarily offer anything new, which is fine sometimes. Still, the dual vocal attack is great and the songs are good for what they are. Maybe recording a full-length to shop around would be the band’s best choice at this point in their career, but it’ll most likely be their next step anyway.
