Review:
If you are still reading, then you must be a fan of the above bands. What we have here is a dramatic little and all too short, re-released, 5-song EP, full of urgent, yet harmonic hardcore laced with truly pained screams. It’s all fairly par for the course, but is well done none the less.
There’s the requisite acoustic/introspective moment to start the excellent “Bishop’s Yard”, but otherwise the music surges with a passionate, high octane delivery that’s tangibly intense, honest and generally free from wimpy or commercial contrivances, though closing title track comes close. The blisteringly harmonic “You Made Me Wrong” also highlights this short, but direct 14 minute effort.
With a crisp production and a sound that’s bound to be popular in the US, I’ll be keeping an eye out for this lot, as this EP left me pretty impressed, even with my jaded view of hardcore.
