Symbiontic
BioConstruct
8.2
With Symbiontic's selfreleased album entitled BioConstruct I can easily state that MetalReview has seen its finest submission to date. Not that we have bands knocking down our door to review their music, we do however obtain a fair amount of unsigned material within each month. How Symbiontic has slipped through the cracks of label attention I'm not quite sure but mark my words this is a band that will be brought to light very fucking soon. Hailing from Germany, Symbiontic's organic breed of technical death metal is an absolutely fully impressive release of extremely progressive and thoroughly creative music. Incorporating a rather brutal death metal attack combined with the utmost technicality their songs make for a very memorable and crushing experience each and every time. From a vocal standpoint the delivery is a low death growl but not quite guttural, flowing smoothly but no where near overbearing they fit perfectly. Whereas one could say Volker Binias' vocals are rather standard and nothing special as far as death vocals are concerned they take nothing away from the more important element of the band, the actual music. Schooled musicians indeed Symbiontic's guitarists Torsten Horstmann and Marcel Schiborr's sound best explained would have to be in the mighty realm of Chuck Schuldiner combine the offset lead ability of Testament's X- guitar virtuoso Alex Scholnick and you have the foundation in which Symbiontic's core sound emerges. What I found with BioConstruct was as the album progressed each tune's intensity grew as well, by the end of the album on the first listen I was sold on the Symbiontic's musicianship and basically fresh sound. The is the first submission I have actually had friends listen to and their opinions were the same as mine and those of course being that Symbiontic has a bright fucking future. Bottom Line: This album is completely polished and meticulous in delivery. The influences stand proud yet not ripped off. It's quite easily explained as death metal for musicians, plain and simple. If you are a fan of Death and basically progressive music in general you need to investigate and support Symbiontic they are more than worthy of your interest and time.
