Alright first of all, I want to know who exactly is still listening to this band? Why is a record label even backing them? And what the fuck is this album supposed to be? Do the answers lie in the fact that Machine Head at one time did release a masterpiece? I will easily admit that Burn my Eyes did not leave my player for at least 3 months after it came out. It was an absolute stellar release. Rob Flynn’s brainchild performed flawlessly. I guess maybe that is the answer because here I am re-hashing old times. It was apparent that Flynn would not come close to the magic of the first release as soon as The More Things Change was unveiled, a sad attempt at trying to give the masses what they wanted to hear. Jump Jump Jump. How the hell can he justify his career? Releasing that trendy ass “sound of the time” bullshit. Was it greed Rob? Did you think we would not see right through it? Onward to Machine Head’s latest release Supercharger. Again I ask what the hell is this album supposed to be? Is it hard rock, is it rap, is it punk? Oh ya now you're saying but it is so diverse. I beg to differ. How about I call it a huge disappointment. At times I found myself actually laughing. I cannot even begin to perceive the rationale that went into releasing such a lackluster of an album. Who is out there longing for a new Machine Head release? I assume it is the few that still believe that one day Flynn will come to his senses and realize what actually fueled his ability to make albums thusfar. That being the crusher Burn my Eyes. The one that some of us still toss in the CD player and shake our heads in disbelief at what this band has become. Bottom line: What the fuck?

After listening to the newest Machine Head release about two or three times, I'm finding it extremely difficult to think of anything nice to say about it. But to do this dissection fairly, I will perform this operation in two parts. Before I get out my scalpel I'd like to say that at one time in my life, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, I thought of this band as being one of my favorites. "NU-METAL POINT OF VIEW" Now bare with me here for I don't pay too much attention to the nu-metal scene. I will admit I do have a few discs in my collection from this genre, but they are so dusty I might as well put them in my "for sale" pile (of shit). Let me get straight to the point. If you like the nu-metal scene, you are going to love Supercharger. I'd even go as far as to say that many of you will probably call this your "album of the year". The sound quality is superb, and if it wasn't for some of the vulgar language portrayed in these songs you'd probably hear many of them on your local radio station. If I were a fan of the nu-genre I would be listening to this album nonstop. But I'm not. I never have been and I never will be. So, I urge you to buy this album. "MY METAL POINT OF VIEW" Back in 1994 life was good, and as I sit here now I can't even come up with one complaint. As I was driving around accomplishing absolutely nothing, I decided to make a stop at the local convenience store for something cool and refreshing to drink. As I brought my beverage up to the check-out counter, the clerk commented on the Pantera T-shirt I was wearing. He then brought out his Walkman stating that the tape he had in there was some of the heaviest shit he'd heard in quite some time. After a comment of that magnitude, I could not resist and gave it a listen. After only about 30 seconds or so I was truly delighted. Burn My Eyes was and still is one of my all time favorites. Man how times have changed. When I was given my copy of this newest Machine Head I was already well aware of the garbage that had been released by this band after that magnificent debut. And I wasn't shocked to find out that this release was just as bad. The best thing for Robb Flynn to do would have been to change the name of the band. This is not the same band I watched kick ass on stage with Slayer that year. I know times change and so does one's musical direction. I am totally fine with that. But to put out this crap under the same name is an insult to metal as we, the true followers, know it. This is a METAL site, and rap music will not be tolerated. So I will warn you this one time my friends: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS ALBUM!!! Favorite Track: none
