What do you do when two singers just aren't enough? Do you get three? Nope, four. That's right, four singers encompass the make up of Orange County straightedge moshers, xDEATHSTARx. Now I know after reading that, a hell of lot of people are going to pass this off as a cliche act akin to Slipknot's makeup, but don't. Although the idea of four singers is rather ridiculous, xDEATHSTARx offers up a damn fine album with their Life Sentence debut, The Triumph.

Offering up a brand of faster-paced tough guy mosh, xDEATHSTARx brings to the plate ten bone-crushing songs, filled with heart, conviction, and breakdowns that are sure to have kids swinging their fists in the pit like a bar fight just ensued. Now you're probably thinking, can you even distinguish the four singers from one another? Yes, actually each does have their own distinct voice varying in higher to lower ranges. After listening to the album I'm not quite sure I can say that all four would be needed to complete the vocal patterns on the album (two would probably suffice), but hell, it makes an impact when those mob choruses kick in that I'm sure comes across great live. As far as riffs go, it's a mix of a lot of trills, hammer-on/pull-offs, crushing breakdowns, and all around thrashy-ness. It's nothing you haven't heard before, nor is it too technical or complicated, but well-composed.

Maybe I enjoy this album that much more because I have a soft spot for straightedge mosh, but I still have to say this is a pretty damn good album. If you're looking for a good reason to slip on those new Saucony's and throw down, xDEATHSTARx gives you more than enough of them in the form of crater inducing breakdowns.
