Deaden! Deaden! Remember these guys? They had this CD with this horribly bloody cover that I used to turn over because it was too brutal for me at the time. They were good, though. So good, United Guttural decided to repress their demo, Feast On The Flesh Of The Dead. And it's too bad they didn't remaster it too, as it sounds like fucking shit most of the time!
They've got everything you need. Depending on what you need. Slow groovy chugging parts that conclude with artificial harmonics, some great audible basslines - even some horror movie samples. Low growls, high growls. Yeppppp. Deaden got it goin' on.
So uh, yeah. Lotta growls and shit. Yep. Death...metal. Horror...samples...and...yeah, shit like that.
Does this demo really let me maintain the level of excitement I had when I found out I could review it? No! Because the first track sounds like fucking shit! And it really isn't that good, anyway. Yeah, it's classic, maybe even classick(!), but there really isn't any reason to go and seek it out. It's old. It's dated. You've heard better. Back then, it was more awesome. Now? Not so much. I guess maybe if you're an extreme fan of the band of just sloppy, lethargic, and underproduced goregrind in general, go order it. Or just get their full length, Hymns of the Sick.
